About Us

Our Story

Insignia Healthcare Group has grown from humble beginnings in 2011, when operations started from a spare bedroom in the family home.

Founded by Craig and Gary Secker, our vision from the very beginning was clear: to provide the highest quality of care, tailored to the individual needs of every person we support. Drawing on their experience within the healthcare sector, Craig and Gary were disheartened by models of care that could prioritise profit, numbers and rigid time constraints over genuine, person-centred care. They were determined to build something different — something better.

Following registration with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Insignia began supporting its first family with a small, dedicated team of carers. We are proud that some of those original team members remain part of the Insignia family today, demonstrating the strength of the relationships and values that have been at the heart of the organisation since its earliest days.

Following Craig’s sudden passing in 2022, his vision and values continued to guide the organisation. His commitment to providing high-quality, personalised care remains central to Insignia, and the legacy he helped create continues to influence the way we support people today.

Continuing the Journey

Since 2022, Nicola Cressey has been a Director of Insignia Healthcare Group and has always held the role of Registered Manager, playing a key role in the leadership and day-to-day management of the organisation.

During this time, Nicola has worked closely with the existing team, individuals we support and their families, helping to maintain the high standards and personal approach that have always been central to Insignia. Her longstanding involvement means that the organisation’s leadership and day-to-day operations have remained consistent, with a strong focus on continuity and quality of care.

In 2026, Nicola acquired Insignia Healthcare Group, formally taking ownership of the organisation she had already played a significant role in leading for several years.

The change in ownership represents a natural progression for Insignia rather than a change in its core direction. Nicola’s leadership continues to build on the foundations established by Craig and Gary, maintaining the values, relationships, teams and approach to care that have shaped the organisation since 2011.

Nicola remains committed to ensuring that Insignia continues to provide high-quality, personalised and person-centred care, while supporting the organisation’s continued development and growth. Her experience as both Director and Registered Manager provides strong continuity and an in-depth understanding of the people, services and teams that make Insignia what it is today.

Gary Secker remains closely involved as Insignia’s Nominated Individual, bringing his extensive experience and knowledge of the organisation. His continued involvement provides further continuity and ensures that the history, values and vision established by the founders remain an important part of Insignia’s future.

Today, Insignia Healthcare Group is proud to be an established provider of complex care across Norfolk and Suffolk. We support both children and adults, working in close partnership with NHS Continuing Healthcare, Personal Health Budget holders, local authorities and private clients.

Although the company has grown significantly since those early days in 2011, our purpose remains unchanged: to provide exceptional, person-centred care that makes a genuine difference to the lives of the people we support.

With Nicola’s longstanding leadership, Gary’s continued involvement and a dedicated team carrying forward the values on which Insignia was founded, we look forward to continuing to grow while remaining true to who we are.
